n the first year of your Pure Mathematics BSc you’ll build a solid foundation across all areas of mathematics, discovering a new world of concepts and ideas while studying pure, discrete, decision mathematics, probability and statistics. From your second year you’ll concentrate on algebra, geometry and analysis. You’ll encounter new kinds of mathematical objects and investigate their common features and abstract natures, focusing on the intrinsic beauty of pure mathematics more than real-world applications. In your second and third study years you'll have the freedom to choose from a mix of compulsory modules and options, allowing you to focus on the aspects of pure mathematics that most interest you.
