Students pursuing the BMus in theory and composition must choose a concentration in either theory or composition, and completion of the requirements for this concentration result in the award of one degree in either theory or composition. Students who select the concentration in theory focus on the theoretical study of music. The School of Music, Dance and Theatre offers students the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in the understanding of musical languages and skills in applying models and methods to music analysis. Students work with renowned faculty with musical interests that represent a wide range of genres and areas.
