In History, you can examine this by studying the history of many different nations and places in many different centuries. In Hispanic Studies, you can do it specifically in relation to the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking worlds, looking the development of the Spanish and Portuguese empires, the creation of modern Latin America and Lusophone Africa, the complexity of culture and history in Spain and Portugal. We take beginners in Spanish and students with an A-level in Spanish. For beginners you can be someone with no Spanish or someone with a GCSE. Those of you with an A-level in Spanish will take beginners Portuguese in your first year after which you may carry it on to the final year. This gives you the chance to study countries such as Portugal and Brazil. Our non-language modules in Hispanic Studies cover the history, politics and cultures of the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking worlds. Our range of modules looks at specific aspects of the different nations, cultures and histories of this global community, from sixteenth-century expansion to today.

IB of 32 is required, including 5 in history at Higher Level, and 5 at Higher Level or 6 in Standard Level (B programme) in Spanish. For 2021 entry, the application fee is 20 GBP for a single choice, or 26 GBP for more than one choice. This program only accepts candidates who have completed 12 years of school education. Requirements may differ depending on the country you are located in. Otherwise, you are advised to complete 1 year of Bachelor's degree in your country or choose between International Foundation and International Year One programs.
