The mechanical engineering degree provides a broad foundation in engineering science and engineering design and the opportunity to develop interpersonal and management skills. At the end of the second year, you may also opt to follow one of the subject specialisations in aerospace, automotive, bioengineering, management, a modern language, materials or manufacture. The fourth year of this course is spent in industry. You will receive support in applying for a year-long placement with an appropriate company. During the placement you will significantly enhance your engineering knowledge and skills. You will have regular meetings with your tutor throughout the year and will remain fully registered with the University.

IB of 38-36 is required with a 6 in maths at Higher Level or 7 at Standard Level plus preferably Physics at Higher or Standard Level excluding Maths Studies. For 2021 entry, the application fee is 20 GBP for a single choice, or 26 GBP for more than one choice. This program only accepts candidates who have completed 12 years of school education. Requirements may differ depending on the country you are located in. Otherwise, you are advised to complete 1 year of Bachelor's degree in your country or choose between International Foundation and International Year One programs.
