During this degree, you will have the opportunity to hone these skills by spending a year abroad immersing yourself into both your chosen languages and cultures. This program offers two pathways based on the student's choice. For students who have two post-A level/IB languages may choose to continue two of the following: French, German, Russian and Spanish (which includes a year of Portuguese). For those individuals who have one post-A level/IB language and would like to start another as a beginner or from GCSE level: you will reach the same level in your beginners’ language as in your A-level language by the final year. You may choose from: French, German, Portuguese*, Russian, Serbian/Croatian** or Spanish (*Portuguese is only available as a beginners' language and may not be combined with Russian and **Serbian/Croatian is only available as a beginners' language and may only be studied alongside Russian). All of the choices made should be clearly stated in the student's UCAS application.

IB of 32 is required with a 5 at Higher Level or 6 at Standard Level (B programme) in at least one of French, German, Russian or Spanish. For 2021 entry, the application fee is 20 GBP for a single choice, or 26 GBP for more than one choice. This program only accepts candidates who have completed 12 years of school education. Requirements may differ depending on the country you are located in. Otherwise, you are advised to complete 1 year of Bachelor's degree in your country or choose between International Foundation and International Year One programs.
