Our bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education will give you the knowledge and training to pursue a variety of careers in public and private schools as well as childcare centers and community programs. The degree leads to preparation for Connecticut teacher certification with a focus in birth to age 5 or pre-kindergarten to grade 3. You’ll receive extensive professional preparation through core theory, site-based observations, real-world fieldwork experiences, and two student teaching semesters in area schools. All programs help shape our students’ professional identity in early childhood education and develop the professional skills to succeed in the field.

A non-refundable application fee of 30 USD is required. Half of applicants admitted to the University of Hartford have an SAT score between 1030 and 1230.
