Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurial thinking—the ability to analyze a market need, develop a solution to the problem identified, and apply innovative business models and methods to achieve your goal—is an invaluable professional skill set that coursework in entrepreneurship will help you develop. Whether you ultimately work in a startup, non-profit, or corporate setting, or if you start your own business, entrepreneurial thinking will help you be successful and think more strategically in all of your endeavors. Entrepreneurship majors at LIU Brooklyn learn how to prepare and execute a comprehensive strategy for launching a new venture to solve a problem or address a market need. Students will learn to ask tough questions about the nature of their business idea: What are the benefits of the product or service and how is it differentiated from the competition? What is the target market and how will it be penetrated? How will the product or service be produced? What personnel are required and how will they be managed? What are the risks of the venture and what can be done to reduce them? What are the financial implications of the plan? What resources, including funding, are required? The entrepreneurial process of value creation through innovation remains the same regardless of the context or the ultimate goal.
