Comparative Literature and Languages is the home base for most language instruction at Hofstra (except for French, Italian, and Spanish which are housed in the department of Romance Languages and Literatures). Each of the modern languages taught in the department is spoken by millions of speakers. In fact, the languages taught in the department are spoken by a vast majority of the world's population.
