Political science is concerned with understanding the ways in which of government can influence society. The curriculum in political science provides opportunities to systematically and critically study American government and politics, to compare various national political systems, to investigate conflict and cooperation among nation-states, to explore the historical development of political theory, to study human rights at the global and local levels, to analyze the organization and management of public affairs, and to master the methods of political research.
