Early Childhood Education degrees at Western Washington University: 1) Early Childhood Special Education P-3 and Early Childhood Education P-3 (Dual Endorsement), BAE: Combines studies in Early Childhood and Special Education and leads teaching certification with endorsements in Early Childhood Special Education and Early Childhood Education (P-3). 2) Early Childhood Education — Non Certification, BAE: This program is for students who are not seeking certification to work in the public schools. Graduates can work in childcare centers, preschools, Head Start programs, and in after-school programs for school-age children. 3) Early Childhood Special Education P-3, BAE: Combines studies in Early Childhood and Special Education. Prepares students to work with children (birth–8) who are at-risk for developmental delay and disability. 4) Early Childhood Education P-3 with Elementary Education Option, BAE: Major in Early Childhood Education and take professional certification courses that lead to dual endorsements for teacher licensure Pre-K–3rd grade and K–8th grade. 5) Early Childhood Education P-3 Option, BAE: Major in Early Childhood Education and take professional certification courses that lead to teacher licensure Pre-K through third grade.
