The 1st Cycle of Studies in Biomedical Sciences allows students to build up careers in areas of health, research and higher education. They are able to collaborate with the medical and scientific community in fundamental and applied (diagnosis and therapy) biomedical research programs; can work in clinical and forensic units; as researchers in centres of biological and medical research companies; in biomedical products companies and; in promotion of science or education. The biomedical training can be complemented and developed in 2nd Cycles of Studies such as Molecular Therapies, Biotechnology, Clinical Analysis and Bio-Entrepreneurship or in 3rd Cycle of Studies fully adapted to the knowledge and to the development of Biomedical competences, such as in Biological Sciences Applied to Health of the IUCS.

Document certifying that the candidate has a national exam of Biology in is education system with the minimum mark of approved in order to substitute our national access exam of Biologia e Geologia and the respective contents is required. Or if a candidate has not taken the test, he/she can do it in the institution.
