The Bachelor of Science
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field merging the sciences, mathematics, philosophy, political science, and economics. Experience has shown that the best way to learn about environmental science is to do environmental science. The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at New England College provides a variety of hands-on learning opportunities in classrooms, laboratories, travel courses, and research projects. Students gain professional experience through internships with environmental science professionals or by completing an in-depth investigation with a faculty member. Environmental Science majors complete a core of natural science and environmental studies and then choose an expertise area from a variety of options including Water Resources, Geographic Information Systems, Soil Science, Energy and the Environment, Solid Waste Management, Air Quality, and Toxicology.
