Master of Public Health
The International Health and Sustainable Development (IHSD) Program at Tulane provides professional public health training in 1) the major health problems facing vulnerable populations globally and their underlying causes; 2) how to assess the prevalence and consequences of these problems; 3) how to mitigate these problems through programs, policy and research; and 4) how to evaluate the effectiveness of program and policy efforts. The curriculum and applied learning opportunities draw upon Tulane's extensive overseas research, technical assistance work, and nearly four decades of experience in providing leadership training in international health to students from around the world. Coursework and learning opportunities are designed to emphasize the importance of cultural, social and behavioral factors influencing health. Program Competencies
