The BA in African American Studies will help students gain an interdisciplinary understanding on past and present social, economic, and political conditions of Africans and people of African descent, and to connect their struggles for social and economic justice with those of disenfranchised peoples throughout the world.

The minimum score required is 6.5 with no band score below 6.0, to include a score of 6.5 or higher on the Academic Writing Band. Internet-based Exam | The minimum score is 80, with no section scores below 17 and a score of 18 or higher on the Writing section (a score of 22 or higher on the Writing section is required for graduate students). Paper-based Exam | The minimum score is 550, with a score of 4.5 or higher on the Writing section. Students with scores below the identified minimums may be eligible for admission to Roosevelt University. Also, some programs require higher subset scores. Please check with your Admission Counselor.
