The BS degree in Biochemistry provides thorough training in the fundamental principles and experimental techniques of chemistry and biology as they apply to biological systems, and emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of these sciences. This program prepares students for a wide variety of careers, including biological or biochemical research, health sciences, government, industry, or with additional coursework in the College of Education, secondary science teaching. For students seeking careers in industry, the biochemistry major may lead to work in interdisciplinary sciences such as biotechnology, forensics, environmental science, or pharmacology, and it is well suited to the needs of pre-professional students, including pre-medical students and pre-pharmacy students.

The minimum score required is 6.5 with no band score below 6.0, to include a score of 6.5 or higher on the Academic Writing Band. Internet-based Exam | The minimum score is 80, with no section scores below 17 and a score of 18 or higher on the Writing section (a score of 22 or higher on the Writing section is required for graduate students). Paper-based Exam | The minimum score is 550, with a score of 4.5 or higher on the Writing section. Students with scores below the identified minimums may be eligible for admission to Roosevelt University. Also, some programs require higher subset scores. Please check with your Admission Counselor. This program is available in Chicago and Schaumburg campuses.
