A major in social science allows you to choose a field of focus from the division’s range of disciplines, including anthropology, geography, history, political science and sociology. Then, you can combine classes in sociology and anthropology, for example, to prepare for a career in social services. Or, you could mix geography and history courses for a position at a museum.
