The mission of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is to guarantee high quality in academic and professional education and graduate competent individuals in the international arena. The Electrical and Electronics Engineering program covers a broad spectrum of topics from five major areas; namely, electromagnetics and photonics, microelectronics/MEMS, power systems, control system, signal processing and telecommunications. Theoretical education is supported and accompained by research in circuit, micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS), telecommunications, photonics and computer laboratories. Students are encouraged to participate in the projects of the faculty and contribute to the scientific and technological developments. In addition to working in these research projects, mostly funded by TUBITAK and the European Union, students also have the chance of being a part of other international cooparative efforts, such as the ERASMUS exchange program.
