Film and Screen Production

Media & Communications / Film Production

Bachelor of Arts

This course gives you a deep understanding of the creative processes involved in the industry, as you start to produce your own work. From day one you’ll produce your own films, taking on industry roles, experimenting with techniques, and working with clients. You'll learn how to adapt your skills to fit briefs and create outcomes that place you at the forefront of the industry. You'll explore the full breadth of filmmaking, from idea to launch, exploring all facets of production across drama, documentary and digital advertising. Examining different styles and techniques, you’ll learn to construct persuasive, compelling stories and manage the production process from start to finish. You'll also investigate how films have developed, acquiring an understanding of cultural contexts and the relationship between storyteller and audience. In your final year, you'll work on a major project (TV drama, music video, documentary or commercial) from pre-production to post-production.
