The School of Education has a reputation for graduating excellent teachers who are well prepared to teach today’s children and youth. Comprehensive programs focus on content knowledge, research-based pedagogy, and practical application through field-based and clinical experiences. Students with a BS in Education can pursue careers in public, private, or charter schools with the appropriate teacher certification based on their major (program of study). Avila’s Education programs include extensive field-based experiences and clinical components. In one of the first education courses, students are placed with a certified teacher in area schools. Students will be prepared to obtain the required Missouri teacher certification.
