In the French Major, with a concentration in French Translation (39 credits), students choose coursework in the French language, enhance their written and spoken communication skills, and take related translation electives to complement their General Education requirements. Many of translation courses offer an internship or other field experience. 120 credits of coursework is required for the baccalaureate degree with a minimum 2.0 overall GPA, and a minimum 2.0 major GPA. Students who place at the appropriate level on the mandatory Montclair State Placement Test may begin the French major in their freshman year.
